FOSTERS - Mrs. Joann Jacobs, of Fosters, passed away at Hospice of West, Alabama. God reached down took her hand and carried her home on Thursday, February 25, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, L A Jacobs and infant children, Tony Jess-hardy, Joanie Elizabeth and Tony James Jacobs of Fosters; her parents, Lelier Mae Smith-Boyette and Joseph Johnston Taylor of Tuscaloosa; her sisters, Lucille Turner, Billie Sue Duren and Betty Kornegay; her brothers, Ernest and William Earl Boyette, all of Tuscaloosa and surrounding areas.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheana Jacobs Sexton; son-in-law, Anthony Sexton; grandchildren, Taylor Anne, Jacob and Connor Sexton; one great-grandchild, Kameron Lyn Sigler, all of Fosters; and one sister, Sarah Dickerson of Jasper, Ga. She is also survived by countless beloved nieces, nephews and extended family.
There will be a graveside service on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the cemetery of Grant's Creek Baptist Church in the Fosters community per her wishes. The service will be officiated by Rev. Davey Burns of Prattville.
Honorary pallbearers are the nurses and caregivers of Hospice of West Alabama, the nurses and staff at Hunter Creek Nursing Home, the nurses and staff of the Noland LTAC floor at DCH, Dr. Jennifer Clem with UMC, Beverly Brown, Justin Keenum, Rev. Davey and Diane Burns, Jason Wyatt, Rev. Mike Griffin, the members, friends and family of Grant's Creek Baptist Church, friends and family from New Hope Baptist, Sylvan and Wesley Chapel United Methodist Churches in the Fosters community, members of the Fosters and Ralph Volunteer fire dept. and numerous beloved family and friends of the Fosters and surrounding community.
She was truly a blessing to her family. She always loved everyone she met. If you knew her, she considered you family. She was a loving, accepting, caring, spiritual person who loved everyone and the Lord. She was a wonderful artist and loved painting spiritual scenes to share her love for the Lord. She will be loved and missed by all that knew her.
