Robert Friend, Jr. 95, of Lewisburg, OH died, Thursday, February 25, 2016 in Eaton. Born on July 22, 1920 in Warren County, OH, he was the son of the late Charles R. & Stella (Heitz) Friend. Bob was a retired farmer and had worked at GM in Dayton for over 35 years. He was a WW II U.S. Army Air Force Veteran, member of the Preble County Farm Bureau and Lewisburg First United Church of Christ. Preceded in death by his Wife: Erta M. (Brower) Friend on Jan. 2, 2016; Brothers: John Henry Friend, Irvin Ray Friend, Firman C. Friend and Harold Eugene Friend; Sisters: Edith Lucile Friend, Helen Stickel and Pauline M. Gauch.
Survived by his Sons: Robert L. Friend and Dennis A. Friend; Daughter: Karen (Jerry) Sollenberger; Grandchildren: Rachel (Ryan) Tait, Jason (Lani) Sollenberger, Laura (Michael) Hernandez and Ashley (Thomas) Nguyen; Great Grandchildren: Mackenzie and Tyler Tait, Paisley, Levi and Lucy Sollenberger and Andrew Hernandez. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the Lewisburg First United Church of Christ, 400 North Main Street, Lewisburg, OH with Rev. David O. Justis officiating. Interment will be held in Roselawn Cemetery, Lewisburg with military honors by the Preble County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the church.
