In memory of Roy Marvin Strickland

Roy Marvin Strickland, 76, of Fayetteville passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2016.
Roy proudly served his country in the 48th Division of the United States Army. Roy was a 50 year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 613. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a two-year President of the Alkuwa Shrine Unit. He loved to race go-carts. He also was a member of Harps Crossing Baptist Church in Fayetteville.
Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Priscilla Pelot Strickland, and his parents.
He is survived by his sons, David Lyle (Lisa), Paul Lyle (Yvonne), Stephen Lyle (Kim) and Andrew Lyle (Christi); nine grandchildren; his brother-in-law, Walker Pelot (Sue); and his long-time friend for 60 years, Mary Richardson.
His funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 29, 2016 at Harps Crossing Baptist Church, with Pastor Dennis Wat son officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Sunday, February 28, 2016.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Shriner Hospital for Children, http://www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org/.
