Frank Peabody and Joseph Pearsall discovered gold and had mines at Monte Cristo, WA. When Frank Peabody passed away in 1930, he ashes were buried under what has been called "Peabody Rock" east of the town of Monte Cristo. When his wife, Kittie died, her ashes were also buried there.
