Maude was a retired EBR Parish School bus driver. Our Mom was a loving wife and mother who was hard working and strongly devoted to her Catholic faith relying on God and the Blessed Mother to help raise her children. Her family was most important to her and for years she cooked Sunday dinners for all of her children and grandchildren because having us all together was her greatest joy.
She is survived by her children and their spouses Carroll Benedetto (William), Patty Delaney (Jerry), JoAnne Davis (Malcolm), Gloria "Jeanie" Broders (Robert "Joe"), and Joseph P. "Scooter" Amorello, Sr. (Jennell); 13 grandchildren, Rhonda, Melissa, Cynthia, Jeff, Tim, Scott, Ashley, Shannon, Dane, Joe, Jr., Angel, Nick, and Timmy; 31 great-grandchildren; sisters, Irma Laird, Hilda (Cecil) Pennington; and in-laws Marilyn Landry, Joe T. Denham, Rose Agnes Davis, and Mary Ann Amorello.
Maude is preceded in death by her husband of 74 ½ years, the love of her life, Joe Amorello, Jr.; parents Joseph Phillip and Ruth Evidge Bourgeois Landry; brothers Woodrow and Garland Landry; and sisters Shirley Denham and Garnett Landry.
Visitation will be on Friday, February 26, 2016 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home (825 Government Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70802) from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church (2250 Main St., Baton Rouge, LA 70802) from 9:00 AM until the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM celebrated by Fr. Greg Daigle and Fr. Kenneth Laird. Interment will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park celebrated by Fr. Miles Walsh.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
