Dennis Ovie Barker,69, son of Chester and Carrie (Boggs) Barker, born December 26, 1946 in Circleville, Ohio went to be with his Lord on February 17, 2016. Dennis graduated from Meadowdale High School in 1964. Soon after, he joined the United States Army and served a tour in Vietnam. After returning home the military, he worked in carpet sales for many years. Those surviving Dennis are his daughter, Amy (Jon) Baker of Springboro, four grandchildren, Kaitlin, Sean, Cassidy, and Bryan Evans; a brother John E. Barker of New Carlisle; two sisters, Ruby Mae Snyder of Melbourne, Florida; and Marie (Sherill) O’Brien of Springfield; two nieces and eight nephews. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Chester Owen and Walter Dean, and special friend, Phyllis Barker. A Visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday in Adkins Funeral Home, Enon. The funeral service will be at 10:00 Tuesday, February 23, 2016 in the Miami Valley United Baptist Church, 660 W. Hyde Road, Yellow Springs, Ohio. Burial will follow the service in the Dayton National Cemetery were the Army Honor Guard will do honors.
