Obituary

Frank Fields, 86, of Kingsport, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born September 28, 1929 in Hawkins County, TN to the late Calvin and Ida Bell Fields.

Frank was a loving and loyal husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. He retired from Rental Uniform Company following thirty years of service. After retirement he enjoyed working part- time at Dall & Bob Motors.

His hobbies included gardening, riding his bicycle on the Green Belt and traveling. He and Naomi had visited all fifty states. His greatest joy in life came from spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Frank was a member of Lynn Garden Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Clay Fields, James "Jim" Fields and Jess Fields.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of sixty-one years, Naomi Sluss Fields; daughter, Debbie Fields Jenkins and husband, Jerry, sons, Tony Fields and wife, Pam, Terry Fields and wife, Gwen; brother, Jack Fields; grandchildren, Jason Fields and wife, Heather, Jessica White and husband, Michael, Lindsey Fields; great grandchildren, Brayden, Landon and Jonah White; several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends at the residence any time and from 5:00-6:45 pm Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Lynn Garden Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 7:00 pm with Pastor Carl Strickler and Pastor Rick Meade officiating. Music will be under the direction of Kevin Odum.

An Entombment Service will be conducted at 11:00 am Friday, February 26, 2016 in the Chapel Mausoleum at Oak Hill Memorial Park & Cremation Gardens. Serving as pallbearers, Brayden White, Michael White, Jerry Lynn Sluss, Shawn Sluss, Rob Gaines and Michael Ray. Honorary Pallbearers will be fellow members of the Crusaders Sunday School Class of Lynn Garden Baptist Church. Family and friends attending the Entombment Service should meet at the Mausoleum by 10:45 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Lynn Garden Baptist Church, 301 May Avenue, Kingsport, TN, 37665.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to Amedisys Hospice and to Frank's special caregivers.
