Martha S. Wilkins, 91, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, at her home in Jonesville. Mrs. Wilkins was born May 30, 1924, in Surry County to Mell and Dovie Sprinkle. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Mrs. Wilkins retired from Chatham Manufacturing after 42 1/2 years of service. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wilkins is preceded in death by her husband, Click Wilkins, after 39 1/2 years of marriage. She is also preceded in death by her siblings, Roger Sprinkle, Mary Hampton, Johnny Sprinkle, Max Sprinkle, Ila Kinley and Jimmy Sprinkle. Those left to cherish her memories are several loving nieces and nephews and loving great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, 2016, at Johnson Funeral Home by the Rev. Steve Stoltezfus. Burial will follow at Sunrise Cemetery in Jonesville. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to funeral service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the charity of your choice or Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 377 Hospital St., Mocksville, NC 27028. The family would like to express our thanks, and sincere appreciation to Hospice and to her wonderful caregivers, Nancy Billings, Victoria Sepeda, Pat Sizemore, Phyllis Stoker and Mandy Foster for the loving care they gave to Martha during her illness.
