Charles (Charlie) Gaines, 76, passed away peacefully at his home in Lucas, Texas on February 22, 2016 after a 2 year battle with cancer. Charles was born and raised in Henning, TN. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He retired from Air Liquid in 2002 after 35 years. For 30 years, Charlie was a dedicated servant to the residents of Lucas and Collin County. He served on Lucas City Council for 10 years, Collin County Parks Board and was a founding member and driving force for Trinity Trails and Preservation Association (TTPA) also served in the Air Force and was a Mason. He loved riding his beloved horse, Spirit, on the many trails created by TTPA. He was preceded in death by his parents, CW Gaines and Beatrice Steelman Gaines. He is survived by his wife Mary; son Kevin and Amy (Blailock); daughter Christie Cannon and husband Kevin plus 5 grandchildren: Seth, Charlie, Peyton Gaines, Daniel Low and Kaitlyn Cannon. Also survived by brothers: Bill Gaines and wife Joann; Maurice Gaines and wife Sue, sister Ella Jo Gaines along with many nieces, nephews friends and family. Graveside Service will be held Saturday February 27, 2016 at 2 PM at the Arlington Cemetery located on Chester Street in Arlington, TN.
