Alma made her home at The Fountains of Crystal Lake where she made many friends and was loved by all, especially her best friend, Lucille Wvsterhausen. Alma had a radiant smile, an infectious laugh, and the most generous, loving heart. She loved the Chicago Cubs, her famous sock collection, and her dog, Pepper. Her life was a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
Alma is survived by five children, Larry (Kim) Pavey, Steve (Mickey) Pavey, Sue Fisher, Ronald Pavey, and Carol (Edward) Byers; grandchildren, Bree, Landon, Stephanie, Brian, Caitlyn, Shannon, Dianna (Jeremy), Megan (Scott), Yuetiva (Adrian), Richard (Julia), and Kwyn; two great-grandchildren, Chance and Micah; her sister, Dora Thornberg; many nieces and nephews; her large extended Pavey and Addington families; and her loving Illinois family, where she spent the last eleven years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her adoptive parents, Harold and Vera Barr; her beloved husband, John; twin sons who died shortly after birth, Donald and Dale; siblings, Doris Addington, Mildred Oliver, Gerald Addington, Floyd Addington, Gene Anderson, and Robert Barr.
Funeral services will be held at Markland Funeral Home, 327 North High Street, Rising Sun, Indiana, on Saturday, February 27, 2016. Visitation will be from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. with funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Graveside service at Rising Sun New Cemetery immediately following.
For those wishing to send an expression of sympathy, her family suggests donations to March of Dimes Foundation.
