Sarah, Mama, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Best Friend is who she was! Mama has always been, and will always be my HERO!! Mama was born in Newnan, Georgia on July 19th, 1935 to Frank Sr & Pearle Carmichael. Mama learned from a young age what kindness, love of family, and hardwork was as she raised her younger brother Frank.

Mama met Daddy (Noel) who she married in 1961. In 1970, Daddy & Mama moved to Athens, Georgia where Daddy was working on the Georgia University expansion. Daddy & Mama contacted an adoption agency looking for a son. On August 12, 1970, the day after I was born (Michael). Daddy & Mama received a call that they had three baby boys for adoption. Daddy & Mama went to Clarke County Hospital where Mama took one look at the baby boy in the middle and said "That's Michael". Daddy, Mama & Me moved to Destin, Florida in 1972. Mama was always there for us, at a young age I had constant knee pain, and Mama would stay up and rub my knees until I went to sleep every night. Mama taught me my first instruction in Karate, as Mama was already a black belt. Mama taught me how to dance, English Literature, and Spelling.
Mama's hobbies were Gardening, Cooking, Crochet, Painting, Deep Sea Fishing, Antiquating, and touring the Great Smokey Mountains. Mama has always been there for Daddy, and Me, from rubbing my knees as a child, to throwing the baseball in the front yard, to watching me play football, to driving me to school, Mama always provided comfort when we needed someone to talk to, and Mama was always Mama, she has always put her family first, going without to make sure Daddy & Me had what we needed.

Mama is survived by her son Michael, and two Granddaughters Courtney & Leighann, and four Great Grandchildren. Mama's older sister Carmen and Nephew Craig, and younger brother Frank Jr. along with her nieces, Wanda, Linda, Cindy, Kellie, Kelsey.

"Mama we will Always LOVE & Miss you!!!

Mama's visitation will be the 24th of February, 2016 at Mckoon Funeral Home from 12:00 to 1:45 pm. Mama will also have a Graveside Service at Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan at 2:00.
