Amy, the ninth of sixteen children of John Burgess and Hannah Moore was born on 27 April 1799 at Penobscot, Maine. Amy married Joel Adams, the son of Ephraim and Betty (Pierce) Adams on 15 December 1818 at Belfast, Waldo, Maine.[1] Joel worked for a logging company. Amy and Joel had four children born at Maine:
1. Betsey Adams (b. 1819; d. 1844) died unmarried
2. Lydia Adams (b. 1822; d. 1840) died unmarried
3. Hannah Adams (b. 1826; d. 1872) m. 27 Nov 1852 at Belfast, ME, William P. Bassick Jr. (1822-1899)
4. William B. Adams (b. 1829; d. 1892) m. 2 Jan 1858 at Belfast, ME, Margaret H. Bassick (1828-1891)
In 1880, Amy (81 years, b. ME, widowed) was living with her son William (51 years, b. ME, occupation Farmer) and his wife Margaret H. (52 years, b. ME, occupation Keeping House) at Morrill, Waldo, Maine.[2]
Amy (Burgess) Adams died on 23 February 1889 at Maine.[3] She is buried in Hadley Cemetery at Waldo, Waldo, Maine.[4]
