LOWELL Valmore R. "Val" Gregoire, beloved
husband of Cecile M. (Boisvert) Gregoire, a resident of Lowell, died Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at a local nursing home, following a short illness. He was 87.
Born in Lowell on September 4, 1921, he was a son of the late Edouard and Eva (Blouin) Gregoire.
Mr. Gregoire served in the United States Army during WWII. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Association.
He was employed at the former Boston Naval Shipyard as a supervisor. Mr. Gregoire was a communicant of the former St. Louis de France Church.
Surviving him besides his wife of 67 years are a daughter, Margaret Richards; a granddaughter, Anne Willoughby and her husband, Jack, all of Annapolis, MD; a sister-in-law, Doris Keter and her daughter, Jo Ann Keter, both of Lowell; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Sylvio, Conrad, and Lionel Gregoire, Simone Lemieux, Idola Boone, and Roberta Schiripo.
GREGOIRE It being his request, visiting hours are omitted. Committal Prayers will be offered in the chapel at St. Joseph Cemetery, 96 Riverneck Road, Chelmsford, on Saturday at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
