Mr. Douglas Brock, 65, of Dreyfus, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Compassionate Care Center.
Mr. Brock, the son of the late Luther Brock and Lizzie Helton Brock Bowman, was born in Madison County on April 23, 1950. He retired from The Bri-Den Company and was a member of the Bearwallow Holiness Church. He enjoyed bird watching and riding his horse Midnight that he’d raised from a colt. Mr. Brock simply enjoyed life, especially spending time with his grandchildren. He was also a United States Army Veteran.
On September 24, 1976, he united in marriage to Mona Miller Brock who survives after 39 years of marriage.
He is also survived by his daughter: Tina Buffkin and husband Jimmy of Waco; two brothers: George Brock and wife Ruby and Boyd Brock; two sisters: Pauline Haley and Wanda Litaker and husband Ronnie and two grandchildren: Zachary Dalton Buffkin and Austin James Buffkin.
Mr. Brock was also preceded in death by three brothers: Emmitt Brock, Otis Brock and Manuel Brock and his sister: Violet Brock.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Bro. Dwight Northern officiating. Burial will follow in the Lowell Cemetery in Paint Lick.
Visitation will be after 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Brock, Jeremy Miller, Jimmy Buffkin, Zachary Buffkin, Tyson Isaacs and Darren Slone.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Clarence Isaacs, David Moore, Keith Miller and George Brock.
