Charlie Alsip, 86, of Corbin, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2016 at UK Medical Center in Lexington.

Born in Corbin, he was the son of the late Alex Alsip and Mary Clark Alsip. He had worked in the Department of Forestry for the State of Kentucky.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Wallace and Floyd Alsip; and by several brothers and sisters. His wife Julia Ann Alsip preceded him in death earlier that same day.

Charlie is survived by his children: David Alsip, Darlene Bishop (Terry), Charles Alsip, Clayton Alsip (Beth), Bonnie Harper (James), Nancy Peters (Kenny), and Shawn Bennett (Kim); a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother Raymond Alsip; and by several nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Charlie's funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, February 25, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. James Hodge officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. Thursday until the funeral at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in the Bark Camp Cemetery in Whitley County.
