Seward resident Kathleen Ann Corrigan, 36, passed away at home in Seward, Alaska, on Feb. 18, 2016.
Funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 409 Fifth Avenue in Seward. A viewing will begin at 12 p.m., with rosary at 12:30 p.m. Rev. Richard D. Tero and Rev. William P. Hanrahan will be officiating.
Graveside services will follow at the Seward Cemetery and a reception to immediately follow at Chinook's Restaurant, 1404 Fourth Ave. in Seward.
Kathleen was born on July 3, 1979, in Ranson, W.Va.; it was in 1993 that she became a resident of Seward. She attended Seward High School and continued her studies with the University of Alaska in Anchorage, where she received her BSN as a Registered Nurse.
Kathleen also lived in Adak, Alaska, from 1989 to 1992, and in Eagle River, Alaska, from 1992-1993. She worked in the Emergency Room as a Nurse for the Providence Seward Medical Center.
Kathleen was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, she was a Volunteer Firefighter for the Seward Fire Department from 2004-2016, as well as her service to the Seward Volunteer Ambulance Corps as an EMT.
She loved traveling, reading and gaming. The family wrote that, "Katie's, heartwarming smile, infectious laugh, girly-girl nights and bubbly personality will forever live on in our hearts."
Kathleen was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Helen Corrigan and Gloria Holler; grandfather, Harold Holler; uncle, John Corrigan; and her cousins, Michael and Stephen Corrigan.
She is survived by her mother, Lee Holler Corrigan of Seward; father, Walter E. Corrigan Jr. of Seward; brother, Sean P. and Karen Corrigan of Seward; niece, Caitlin Corrigan of Seward; her grandfather, Walter E. Corrigan MD of Huffman, Texas; and her grandmother, Antoinette Corrigan of Huffman, Texas; she is blessed with a large family of aunts, uncles and cousins that are too numerous to list.
