Marlene Veen, 60, of Milbank, died on February 21, 2016, at Avera Medical - Milbank.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 25, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Keith Bicknase officiating. Organist will be Kristy Tostenson. Burial will be in the Milbank City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 5 – 7 p.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Thursday morning.

Marlene Arlene Veen was born of November 2, 1955, in Milbank, South Dakota, the daughter of Charles Henry and Arlene (Wittrock) Egan. On March 17, 1973, Marlene and Harold Frederick Veen were united in marriage. To this union four children were born. They made their home in Milbank. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church. Marlene worked for the Whetstone Nursing Home and then began her career with Saputo Cheese, where she worked for 25 years.

Marlene loved to camp and enjoyed her trips to the casino with her sister. Most of all, she greatly cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren.

Left with her loving memory are her husband, Harold Veen, of Milbank, SD; children: Scott Veen of Milbank, SD; Jason (Kim) Veen of Big Stone City, SD; and Jennifer (Michael, Jr.) Hurlbut of Ortonville, MN; grandchildren: Brianna, Blake, Dylan, Dustin, and Dayla Veen, and Jasmine, Joshua, and Alex Hurlbut; sisters Alice Edward of Raleigh, NC, and Darlene Egan of Minneapolis, MN; brother Dale (Donna) Egan of Big Stone City, SD; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her son, Matthew Veen.
