A native of Fort Myers, Florida, Eddie Towns' musical upbringing was in the Gospel church. He was deemed a prodigy on the drums at the age of 7 and was known as the "wonder boy drummer" in his home town. In the church he also learned to play piano, guitar and sing. At the age of 19 he was offered a recording contract in Hollywood, California and signed to the recording label: "Total Experience" - an Independent Record Label distributed by RCA Records.

In the late 1980's Eddie Towns' songs from his album: Best Friends hit the R & B Top 40 charts. During that time he toured and performed on "Soul Train," one of the longest running black syndicated R&B music shows.

In the late 1990's Eddie Towns was signed to the legendary Motown Records (the record company responsible for introducing the World to such superstar acts as Michael Jackson & The Jackson 5, Diana Ross, The Supremes, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Rick James, Lionel Richie & The Commodores and Boys to Men). Eddie Towns' album entitled Meant to Be by Nu Soul Habits gained fame in both Japan and the UK after touring as the opening act for Barry White's European tour with a kick-off performance at the famous Wimbeldon Arena.

Songs written by Eddie Towns in the 90's were covered by Miki Howard (female R &B Soul Singer whose big hits include: Love Under New Management, Come Share my Love and Baby Be Mine) as well as by female soul singer Tonia Blunt who co-starred in the movie: "Sister Act 1."

In 2001, Eddie Towns spent the summer touring with the World renowned R & B band: "The Brothers Johnson" playing the Fender Rhodes piano/keys and singing. The Brothers Johnson was one of the prodigies of World famous producer: Quincy Jones.

Their hits include: "Strawberry Letter 23, " "I'll be Good to You" and "Tomorrow."

Eddie Towns has toured, performed and recorded with some of the biggest names in the music business including: Rick James, The Brother's Johnson, The King of Rock & Soul: Solomon Burke, Grammy Award Winning Multi platinum Rap Artist: Coolio and Barry White.

From 2002-2006 Eddie Towns was Musical Director for Solomon Burke: "The King of Rock & Soul's" World Tours.

In 2004 Eddie Towns played piano with LA's top rhythm section in the recording of the album Make Do with What you Got by recording artist Solomon Burke. The album was produced by Don Was (who has also produced and worked with the Rolling Stones, Bonnie Rait & Elton John among many others). The famous song writer and artist/guitarist: Ray Parker Jr was also a part of the session along with renowned R& B drummer: James Gadson, one of LA's top session drummers that has played on numerous hits starting in the 60's.

Eddie Towns is a Grammy nominated song-writer for his song: After All These Years which was on Solomon Burke's 2005 Album: Make Do With What You Got. The CD included songs by pioneers of the industry including Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, Dr. John, Jagger/Richards, Robbie Robertson and others.

Eddie Towns passed away seven days after his 48th birthday in Byblos Lebanon. Of a Cerebral hemorrhage.
