William Roy Pruitt
On May 15, 2008, our father, Roy Pruitt, was rejoined in Heaven to his loving wife of 52 years, Beatrice Boatwright Pruitt.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry G. Pruitt; a daughter, Becky Pruitt; and his first wife, Bertha Jones.

He attended Mount Tabor Methodist Church.

His is survived by two sons, A.D. Pruitt (Phyllis), Danny Roy Pruitt (Sylba); two daughters, Carolyn White (Sterling), Nancy Mabe (Larry); two brothers, E.R. Pruitt and Tommy Pruitt; one sister, Barbara Keeton; and eight grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Greenhill Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Mount Tabor Cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews.

Roy was an avid farmer. He enjoyed taking care of his animals, land, and above all, working with his tractors. Our dad had no formal education, he could not read or write, but the education he afforded us cannot be found in books or in schools. We were taught always to do the right thing. If you can help anyone in need, be thankful for that pleasure. If you do anything wrong, accept the consequences with no regrets. These values have lasted us a lifetime. They are more valuable than any monetary possessions that we can achieve. In retrospect, I must say our dad was the smartest man I have ever known.

Godspeed, Daddy. We love you.
