Dorothy M. Bailey of Winona Lake, Indiana passed away at 12:20 p.m. on Monday, January 18, 2016 at her residence at the age of 89.
She was born on June 28, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph Smrt and Emily (Kretschmer) Smrt. In April 20, 1944 in Joplin, Missouri she was married to Lt. Herb Bailey, who passed away in January 1966.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter: Penelope (husband James) Grogan (Orlando, Florida); two sons: Herb (wife Anne) Bailey Jr. (Warsaw, Indiana); and Scott (Nina) Bailey (Sycamore, Illinois). Also surviving are four grandchildren: Herb III (wife Sarah) Bailey (Warsaw, Indiana); Heidi (husband Gary) Leininger (Warsaw, Indiana); Ian (Michelle) Bailey (Bloomington, Indiana); Hannah Bailey (Austin, Texas); and four great-grandchildren: Mandy Whittaker, Emily Bailey, Josie and Jules Leininger.
She was preceded in death by husband, her mother Emily Smrt in December 1982; father Joseph Smrt in January 1986; brother-in-law George Zitek in March 2006; and her sister Gladys Zitek in October 2010.
