Carl "Eddie" Berry Jr., age 75, of Mount Vernon, died Wednesday September 20, 2006 at the home of his daughter surrounded by his family and close friends. Carl was born June 6, 1931 in New Orleans to Carl E. and Frances L. (Guidroz) Berry and had been a resident of the Mount Vernon area since 1948. He was retired from Columbia Gas of Ohio, where he had been employed 37 years as a welder.

He was a 46-year member of the Colonial City Moose Lodge in Mount Vernon and had also been a member of the Mount Vernon Eagles Lodge.

Surviving are his daughter Roxanne Berry of Howard; three sons Doug Berry of Mount Vernon, Dan Berry of Howard and Joe (Mira) Berry of Mount Vernon; 3 grandsons Kyle (Alexis) Berry, Kevin (Steph) Berry, and Keith Berry; two step grandsons Todd Bechtel and Brian Bechtel; an aunt Louise Newton of New Orleans; cousins Stacy (Skip) McHugh, Cinda (Lawrence) Walters and Linda (Kyle) Lynch; and close friends Jim and Lil Gray, Theresa Davidson, Peg Hardesty and Lisa Lehman. His parents and a brother Don Berry preceded him in death.
