E. W. FEIGE, M. D., one of the successful young physicians and surgeons of the state, established in the practice of his profession at Woonsocket, Sanborn county, was born on a farm near the city of St. Joseph, Missouri, on the 9th of August, 1871, and is a son of William and Frieda (Werner) Feige. He accompanied his parents upon their removal to the territory of Dakota, and he completed a course in the high school at Huron, South Dakota, being graduated as a member of the class of 1891, and he then took up the study of medicine. In the fall of 1892 the subject was matriculated in the Chicago Homeopathic Medical College, where he completed the prescribed course, being graduated with the degree of Doctor of Medicine. After his graduation he located in Hawarden, Iowa, where he was engaged in practice until December, 1896, when he located in Alpena, South Dakota, where he continued his professional work until he established himself in practice at Woonsocket, where he has since resided and where he has secured a most gratifying support. The Doctor is a staunch supporter of the principles of the Republican party, is a member of the Presbyterian church in his home town and has become affiliated with the Masonic fraternity.
