Scott August Schneider on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 died peacefully at his residence in Metairie, LA. He was 58. Son of the late Anthony Joseph “Tony” Schneider and Beverly Lobre Schneider. Born March 20, 1957. Beloved husband of Mary Belte Schneider. Loving father of Scott A. Schneider, Justin P. Schneider, Caroline C. Schneider, and Chynna M. Anderson. Father-in-law of Amy E. Schneider. Affectionate grandfather of Adele R. Schneider. Brother of Stanford A. Schneider (Angela B.), Mark F. Schneider, Sr. (Nedra L.), Mary Elizabeth S. Ciaccio (Philip C.), and Michael S. Schneider (Lucia F.). Beloved uncle of numerous nieces and nephews.

A New Orleans native, Scott was a Brother Martin High School graduate who received an undergraduate degree from Loyola University. He proudly worked with Schneider Paper Products, Inc. (SPP), a family owned wholesale institutional paper distribution company founded by his father, Tony Schneider, in 1957. Scott began working at the company with his siblings as a young boy in the warehouse. He then became a salesman, and then ultimately the Executive Vice President of Sales for the company. Scott was beloved by his colleagues, business associates, customers, and employees for his friendly disposition and cheerful sense of humor.

Scott was a member of the Krewe of Thoth and the Harley Owners Group. He was a parishioner at St Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Metairie, LA. He enjoyed fishing in Delacroix, LA, cruising on his Harley Davidson, powerboating, and spending time with family and friends at the family home in Mississippi. While he had several hobbies and interests, what he enjoyed most were the simple pleasures such as spending time with his loving and devoted wife, Mary, his children, and his granddaughter, Adele.

Relatives and friends of the family, business associates, and employees of SPP are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the Chapel of Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. on Saturday, February 27 at 1:00pm.
