Karen was born December 1, 1942 at Mt. Sterling, IA, a daughter of Howard and Lucille Anders Mitchell.
She graduated from Kahoka High School in the Class of 1960 and on October 22, 1960, was united in marriage to Danny Hobbs at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Kahoka.
Survivors include her husband, Danny, of Kahoka, MO; three sons, Trent (Carrie) Hobbs of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Brent (Laurie) Hobbs of Palmyra, MO, and Kent Hobbs (Terri Jo Irvin) of Kahoka, MO; a daughter, Dru Ann (Mike) Nash of Rocheport, MO; special friend and “Grandma Mary” - Mary Martin of Kahoka, MO; four grandchildren: Jeremy (Maddy) Hobbs of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Tyler Hobbs of Fort Madison, IA, Lynde (Zach) Candee of Madison, WI, and Mackenzie Hobbs of Quincy, IL; five step grandchildren: Makenzie Crull, Madysinn (Jakob) Hood, Dallas (Jamie) Munson, John Nash, and Tim Nash; four step-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Ann Bayne of Burlington, IA; as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law, Nettie G. Hobbs; a brother, Tom Mitchell; and a sister, Linda Johnson.
Karen was a 45 year retired employee of General Telephone/Century Tel.
Inturnment in the Chambersburg Cemetery.
