Jamie Ruth Hemphill Middleton

Funeral services for Mrs. Jamie Ruth Hemphill Middleton of Winona will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 23, at First Baptist Church in Winona, with Dr. Tim Mims, Rev. Jason Middleton, and Rev. Gary Anglin officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Winona.

Visitation will be Monday, February 22, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., in the Family Life Center of First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Middleton, 86, died of heart failure at University Medical Center in Jackson on Saturday, February 20. She was born on March 8, 1929, in Warren, Arkansas, to John
James and Ruby McKinny Hemphill. She attended Mississippi College and later worked at McGregor's Manufacturing, then served as Montgomery County Tax Assessor for 24
years. Mrs. Middleton was a thankful member of First Baptist Church in Winona, where she taught in the Youth Department. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Business and Professional Women, and was active in the Lifeline program. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Middleton is survived by her husband of 67 years, Dan Middleton of Winona; daughters, Susan Hoover (Denny) of Winona and Laurie Lockett (Charlie) of Winona; son,
Jimmy Middleton of Winona; sister, Lydia Sue McRaney of Houston, TX; brother, Clifford Carroll Hemphill (Neva) of Webster County; four grandchildren, Lauren Hoover Branch,
Allie Hoover Reed (Russ), and Mary Catherine Hoover, all of Winona; and Stephanie Lockett of Elliott; and four great-grandchildren, Madeline Branch, Lana Branch, and Isabel Reed, all of Winona, and Taylor Morris of Southaven.

Pallbearers are Gary Hemphill, John McRaney, Byron Middleton,Carl Middleton, Curtis Middleton, and Myron Foster. Honorary pallbearers are Hal Middleton and Mike Brown.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Preschool Program, Mission Hope, or the Lifeline program.
