Thelma D. Gray, 88 year old Woodward resident, died Friday, February 19, 2016 in Woodward. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2016 in the Elmwood Cemetery.

Thelma Doris (Shore) Gray was born on August 11, 1927 on the family farm, 14 miles west of Fairview, Oklahoma to James and Jennie Frances (Wallace) Shore. She grew up near Fairview and attended the Union Rural Country School. After her schooling, Thelma moved to the May Community and met the love of her life, Leroy Gray. They were united in marriage on April 23, 1953 in May, Oklahoma. They were blessed with two daughters, Elaine and Helen. The family moved to Ben Lomond, Arkansas in 1953 and they ran the Gray’s Grocery Store side by side for almost 30 years.

After they retired in 1983, Thelma and Leroy moved to Woodward to be close to family. Shortly after moving to Woodward, Leroy passed away. Thelma worked as a care giver for a period of time with the elderly and in 1987 she went to work for the Mooreland Nursing Home in the kitchen.

Thelma was an avid quilter and she loved to crochet. She loved to share stories of her life experiences with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her two daughters, Elaine Fullbright and husband Troy of Woodward, Helen Williams and husband Kelly of Woodward; grandchildren, Sheree Clevenger Clark and husband Tyrone of Webster, Texas, Stephanie Fullbright of Woodward, Ryan Williams and wife Mariah of Woodward, Kyle Williams of Woodward, Tyler Williams and wife Tristan of Elk City; great-grandchildren, Brandon Clevenger and Crystal, Cory Clevenger, Jacie Clevenger, Dawson Fullbright, Makenize Williams, Adam Williams, Nathan Williams, Grant Williams; great-great-grandchildren, Serenity Clevenger, Kadence Clevenger, Gabby Clevenger, Lilly Clevenger, Riley Clevenger; one sister, Angie Tower and husband Clyde; one brother Merle Shore and wife Linda; extended family members in various states, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three daughters, and one sister Geneva Biehn.
