Howard, age 89,was a long time deacon & Bible teacher at Bessemer First Baptist Church, which merged and became the Baptist Church at McAdory. He was a WW11 Army veteran, a graduate of Auburn School of industrial Design, founder/co-owner of Howard Garrett Associates of Birmingham, Al., and founder of the Garrett Foundation. Howard was preceded in death by his lovely wife, Carol Jean Parker Garrett, and is survived by 2 daughters, 5 grandchildren,6 great grandchildren, and his brother Bob (Brenda) Garrett. Funeral services were February 12, 2016 at the Baptist Church at McAdory, with Brother Bill McCall officiating. Howard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing such a fine Christian man. He will be greatly missed.
