Jane was born in Bloomington, IL March 31, 1930 the daughter of the late Herman William and Mary E. McKinley Orendorff and was a graduate of Trinity High School in Bloomington. She married Elmo F. Burton in Bloomington, IL November 23, 1950, and he preceded her in death May 22, 2000.
Jane was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Lafayette; a past president and member of the Indiana Right to Life; served as a volunteer at the Sisters of the Precious Blood Monastery in Lafayette and taught piano.
Surviving are five daughters, Gail Antilla (Jeff) of Groveland, FL; Lynn Bowers (Steve) of West Lafayette, IN; Susan Kimbrell of Lafayette, IN; Anne Olsen (Robert) of Wellington, FL; Paula Sanders (Dale) of Lafayette, IN; and by four sons, Mark Burton (Debbie) of Cheyenne, WY; Greg Burton (Tammie) of Noblesville, IN; Bradley Burton Benz (Lacey) of Pagosa Springs, CO; and David Burton (Vicky) of Bloomington, IN. Also surviving are 28 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Julie Ann Burton and Carol Minicus, and by a sister, Mary T. McAvoy and a brother, Jack Orendorff.
