Dawn was born December 11, 1963 to the late Medford R. and Clydette M. Johnson in Wilmington, Delaware. Dawn was called " A bundle of joy" by her mother and she was dedicated to the Lord as a baby. Dawn attended schools in the area and graduated from Concord High School in 1981. After high school she continued her education at Wilberforce College ultimately getting her degree in nursing. Soon after college Dawn met and married Anthony Adams. She had and raised two children, Jeryl V. Adams and Coniah A. Adams.

Cooking nutritional vegetarian meals became a specialty of Dawn's, ultimately leading her to open the Lifestyle Veggie Shop which received a 5-star rating from the News Journal Papers.

Treating sick people was also a passion and gift and she was often found treating and restoring health to people doctors had given up on. She was in the process of opening a house to take care of Aids Patients for the State of Delaware.

Dawn was blessed to travel a great deal and made many friends. Through her love of travel she was able to see most of the U.S., Hawaii, Bermuda, Jamaica, Canada, Mexico, France, and Brazil. Even during the most painful times of her illness she enjoyed long rides in the car.

Dawn passed after battling breast cancer, a family illness. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Anthony A. Adams, Son Jeryl, daughter Coniah, sisters Iris Wisher, Clydette B. Johnson, Alisha Crawford, and brother Stanley Seeney, four aunts Wanda Wiggins, Geraldine, Lillian, Arnette, uncles Clyde, Victor, Russell, Andy, Ricky, Wyman, father and mother in law Theodore and Catherine Adams and a host of other relatives. She was predeceased by her sister Kim Renee Brown.
