Adell Collins Sapp, 86, of Hillview Community died peacefully Saturday, February 20, 2016, at home surrounded by her family. Born in Collins and a lifelong resident, she was the daughter of Bertie and Minnie Lynn Collins. She retired from the Collins Elementary School lunchroom after 23 years of working. Quilting, embroidering, crocheting and flower gardening was her enjoyment. She made numerous afghans, quilts and embroidery items to give to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren through the years.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Fred Sapp; a son, Larry Sapp; parents, Bertie and Minnie Lynn Collins and step-mother, Laura Rogers Collins; sister, Lorie Anderson; brothers, J.H. Collins and Clifford Collins.
Survivors are a daughter and a son, Virginia Sapp and Kyle Sapp both of the Hillview Community; daughter-in-law, Carol Cowart Sapp of Bonaire; six grandchildren, Christie (Greg) Waters of Land O’Lakes, FL; Debbie (Shawn) Sikes of Cobbtown, Shannon (Karen) Sapp of Knoxville, TN, Andrea (Wade) Griner of Kathleen, Kimberly (Josh) Nelson of Marietta and Wesley Sapp of Athens; eleven great grandchildren; two sisters, Bertha Shuman of Collins and Janie (Ronnie) Sikes of Metter; two sisters-in-law, Modrea Hackle Collins of Collins and Betty Drake Collins of Lyons.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, 2:00 pm, at Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Lee Chambers officiating, assisted by Elder Steve Taylor. Graveside will be Elder Steve Taylor and Elder Lee Price. Burial will be in Cedar Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, 6-8 pm, at Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church also. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be nephews. Remembrances may be made to Tattnall C.A.R.E.S., POB 2356, Reidsville, GA 30453. Guest book: kennedyfuneralhomechapels.com.
