She is survived by her brother, Arthur (Edie) Hartzog of Osceola, and her stepchildren, Dan Jackson of Osceola and Judy Miller of Mishawaka. Also surviving are 4 step-grandchildren and 6 step-great-grandchildren, as well as her dear friends, Jan and Bubba Roach of Mishawaka. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Jackson in November of 2013, and her brothers, M. Dennis Hartzog and Larry A. Hartzog.
Memorial visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Wednesday at Zimmerman-Inman Funeral Home in Osceola, with funeral services to follow at 7:00 pm. The family will also be holding a private celebration of her life at a later date. Elkhart Cremation Service is assisting with arrangements.
Charlene was employed as a secretary at the University of Notre Dame for many years, and later as a transcriptionist at St. Joseph Medical Center. Charlene and her husband Larry enjoyed traveling, and their favorite trip was to Hawaii. She loved animals, and spent many years raising birds. She leaves behind her beloved and faithful Morkie, Nikki.
