He leaves his wife of 63 years, Rita I. (Fontaine) Alessandrini; two sons: John Barry Alessandrini and his wife, Ree, of Clinton, and David Alessandrini and his wife, Jane, of Sterling; three daughters: Paula Pope and her husband, Dennis, of Sterling, Nancy Kulis and her husband, Tom, of Clinton, and Donna Clayfield and her husband, Jonathan, of Spencer; two sisters: Jeanette Praderio of Clinton, and Nina Marie Orle and her husband, Rolf, of Colorado; ten grandchildren: Jenelle Pope Canny, Bryan Pope, Brad Kulis, Rachel Kulis Souza, Cara, Marc Jimmy, and Matthew Alessandrini, and Justin and Tyler Clayfield; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, John Alessandrini, and three sisters, Elisa Pacy, Esther Fawcett Yannece, and Palmina Mollica.
Dominic was born in Everett, and raised in Clinton, son of John B. and Mary Grace (Coccione) Alessandrini. He was a graduate of Clinton High School, Class of 1947, and the former Worcester School of Business Science, and was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War, serving on the first helicopter squadron.
For 34 years, he worked as a Proposal Manager for Raytheon Corp., retiring in 1991. Previously, he worked for Macomber Construction Co., Boston.
He was a parishioner of St. Joseph the Good Provider Church, Berlin, and the former Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Clinton. He was a member and past President of the Clinton Lions Club, and a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and traveling. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Dominic’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 from the McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St., with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph the Good Provider Church, 52 West St., Berlin. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Lancaster. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Clinton Fire Department, 555 Main St., Clinton, MA 01510, or to Veterans, Inc., 69 Grove St., Worcester, MA 01605.
