PALMER - Douglas E. Warner, Jr., 84, of the Three Rivers section of Palmer, died Tuesday, October 30, 2012 following a brief illness, with his family by his side. Born in Springfield, August 18, 1928, he was the son of Douglas and Mary Madeline (Cahill) Warner. He was a graduate of Springfield Technical High School, later received a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from AIC, and served in the Massachusetts National Guard. He was employed as planning and distribution manager at Monsanto Chemical Company for more than 35 years. He enjoyed spending time at the family's Cape Cod home, was a talented carpenter and took great pride in maintaining his homes and their lawns and gardens. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 59 years, Marlene (Kenyon) Warner, his 2 daughters, Susan Prosperi and her husband Larry, of Three Rivers, and Ann Before and her husband Keith of Belchertown. He also leaves his precious grandchildren, Cameron and Nicole Prosperi and Josette Before. Besides his parents, Doug was preceded in death by a son, Joseph, in 1995. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 3 at 1:00 p.m. at Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home followed by burial in Oak Knoll Cemetery.
