Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Bob Crass, minister, officiating. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Marie was born Nov. 20, 1921, in Kirkland to Abbott and Lula Mae Hardin. She graduated from high school in Dimmitt, taking a business course the next year. She moved to Amarillo to attend beauty college, remaining in the beauty business for 60 years.
Marie was always thankful for the many special people who touched her life from work and church. Marie was a loving wife, mother and “Nanny.” She was a longtime member of Central Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, E.L. Carroll; a son, Larry; a sister, Doris Stone; a brother, Dub Hardin; and a nephew, Bill Stone and wife Mariellen.
Survivors include two daughters, Janie Weems and husband Johnny and Julie Black; two grandsons, Taylor Weems and wife Amber and Jeff Black and wife Abby; five great-grandchildren, Gracelyn, Graham and Savannah Weems and Parker and Cecily Black; and her nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
