Patricia L. Conway, 75, of Emmitsburg, MD died peacefully Friday, February 19, 2016 at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster, MD. Born May 25, 1940 in Delaware County, PA, she was the daughter of the late George Adams and the late Viola Castorina. She was the wife of the late Edward M. Conway, to whom she was married for almost 50 years.
Pat was a bookkeeper during much of her life. During her later years she was a hostess and cashier at Mountaingate Restaurant in Thurmont, MD and the Family Restaurant in Gettysburg, PA. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Emmitsburg. She enjoyed working with ceramics, weaving on her loom, and collecting Irish memorabilia. During her younger years she enjoyed horseback riding. More than anything, Pat loved reading and spending time with her family.
Surviving are daughter, Deb Valdivia and husband Mike of Fairfield, PA; sons, Owen Conway and wife Peggie of Sugar Tree, TN, Michael Conway of Emmitsburg, and Dennis Conway and wife Belinda of Keymar, MD; sister, Joyce Glanfield and husband Edward of PA; brothers, David Adams and wife Suzanne of SC, and Richard Adams and wife Jamie of NC; grandchildren, Pamela Conway of Tonawanda, NY, Eileen Petrichevich and husband Branson of Keymar, MD, Andrea McGuigan and husband Ryan of Thurmont, MD, Sarah Poole and husband Sharkey Poole III of Westminster, MD, Adam "A.J." Gertenbach of Fairfield, PA, Mathew Conway and wife Kristin of Ranson, WV, James Conway and wife Sara of Boonsboro, MD; Amanda Rivera and husband Elvin of Fort Benning, GA, Jackie Bishop and husband Phillip of Centerville, TN, Karen Conway of Parsons, TN, Patrick Michel of Kaneohe Bay, HI, and Shawn Michel of Sugar Tree, TN; great-grandchildren, Miranda, Cadence, Luke, Logan, Trevor, Zavian, Dakota, Chyanne, Dixie, Evie, Josie, Evelyn, Dominic, Luis, and Michael; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 27, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 47 DePaul St., Emmitsburg, MD, with The Rev. John J. Holliday, C.M. as celebrant. Interment will follow at New St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
