Ernest B. Stewart Rites Here Tuesday

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Hastings-Pearson chapel for Ernest B. Stewart who died April 17th at his home in Lennox, Calif., at the age of 75. Concluding services were held at the Ord cemetery. Ernest Stewart was born in North Loup, June 25, 1883. He and Lena Timmerman were married Feb. 22, 1906 at Ord. They lived on the A.M. Stewart farm at North Loup for three years, when they bought the Sam Perkins farm in Springdale. They farmed here until 1920, when they moved to Long Beach, Calif., where they lived for 16 years. In 1936 they moved back to the Springdale farm, later buying the Goodhand and Ulrich farms. Mr. Stewart was a lover of horses. He raised saddle horses and Angus cattle.

Survivors include his wife, Lena; a son, Wayne of Los Angeles, three grandchildren, Peggy, Phillip and Paul Stewart, two brothers, Lloyd of Elsinore, Calif., and Alza of Garden Grove; one sister, Ruby of Apple Valley, Calif. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Opal and Pearl, and two brothers, Roy and Frank.
