Joan Maxwell, 1931 to 2016

Born on June 5th, 1931, entered rest peace-
fully on February 15th, 2016; her only daughter, Joan and granddaughter, Hannah, the sunshine of her life for the last 19 years were at her bedside when she passed. Her father Gerome L. and mother Mary E. Maxwell and ex-husband Neil J. Condon as well as several cousins predeceased her.

For years in Lancaster she was a most skilled seamstress to Lancaster's most elite residents, The American Music Theater, and the Showcase of Fashion. Joan was last employed as a seamstress for Donecker's. She enjoyed her family, sewing, and conversing with others. She is survived by her sons; Edward Condon of Allentown, PA, William Condon of Middletown, DE, Timothy and Bruce Condon of Lancaster County, PA, James Condon of Hamilton, NJ, and her only daughter, Joan, wife of Stephen Carney of Denver, PA; twelve grandchildren, Hannah Carney, Darren Carney, Melissa Condon, Jimmy Condon, Rob Condon, Sharonda Condon, Sean Condon, Dave Condon, Jon Condon, Sarah Condon, Jen Condon, and Steve Condon; six great-grandchildren and four cousins. There will be a celebration of her life at the family's convenience.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Joan's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater PA Chapter, 2595 Interstate Dr., Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110 or to Lancaster County BH/DS, 150 N. Queen St., Suite 610, Lancaster, PA 17603.
