Rodney R. "Ronnie" Payne, 72, of Crisfield, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at the Sun City Center Hospice House in Ruskin, FL.

Born in Crisfield on May 22, 1943 he was the son of the late Charles Payne and Teresa Nock Payne. He retired as sales manager of the former Carvel Hall Cutlery in Crisfield and also as co-owner with his wife, Ella, of Landons Flowers in Crisfield.

He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Stanley Cochrane Post # 16, and the Crisfield Elks Lodge # 1044. Ronnie played in several local bands, especially the Venturas for over 50 years.

Surviving is his wife, Ella Mae Swift Payne; two sons, Jamie Payne/Kendra of Crisfield, and Mike Burt/Annette of Chincoteague; two daughters, Angie Colona/Billy, and Brandy Holland /Corey, both of Crisfield; one brother, Charles "Chick" Payne/Suzanne of Crisfield; one sister, Dawn Laird of Crisfield; grandchildren, Ryan Payne/Kim, Eric Jones, Kayla and Rachel Colona, Ethan, Cameron, and Paige Payne, Audrey, Miranda, and Noel Atkins, Tyler Holland, Chloe, Cora, and Allison Burt; one great-grandchild, Nash Jones; mother-in-law Claudia Holt/Frank of Princess Anne; father-in-law Elwood Swift/Janet of Eden; special sister-in-law, Cheryl Swift of Salisbury, and sister-in-law Vanessa Sargeant/Danny of Delmar. Several nieces & nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call two hours prior to the service. Rev. Robert Daniels will officiate and interment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery in Marion Station.

Flowers will be accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the Crisfield Fire Dept., P. O. Box 591, Crisfield, MD 21817.
