Mrs. Mary Emma Miller, 77, of 61 Willow, the widow of Samuel A. Miller, died at 9 p.m. Wednesday at the residence after an eight years' illness. Mrs. Miller had been confined to bed three weeks. She was born Aug. 19, 1861, in DeWitt, Ill., the daughter of Alex and Barbara Ellen (Wise) Buskill, and had resided in Battle Creek for 48 years, coming here from Norton, Kan. She was married in June of 1878. Her husband died March 30, 1917. Mrs. Miller was a member of the First Methodist church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Bessie Hattendorf, 158 Grove; Mrs. Anna Phillips of Albion, N. Y.; three sons, Bert Miller of 61 Willow, Samuel C. Miller of 178 Battle Creek avenue, and Ross A. of 61 Willow; 16 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Hebble chapel with the Rev. Spencer Bacon Owens in charge. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery.
