Morgan James Anderson, 79, of Lincoln, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2016, at Alpena Regional Medical Center.

Born June 8, 1936 to Hugh and Gladys (Atherton) Anderson in Curran, he was raised there and in Lincoln. Morgan worked as a carpenter, building many homes in the area. On September 27, 1954, he married Eula Williams in Iuka, Mississippi, and they were residents of Decatur Alabama for seven years before moving to Lincoln. Morgan enjoyed hunting and carving deer antlers, but especially loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Eula, six children, Hugh Anderson of Lincoln, Melanie Bishop of Chelsea, MI, Jeff (Tina) Anderson of Lincoln, Roger (Cassie) Anderson of Bethel, OH, Ross Anderson of Ypsilanti, and Vicki Smith of Lincoln, ten grandchildren, Jessica Houska, Jennifer Evans, Jacob Bishop, Morgan Anderson, Kathleen Shaw, Dale Anderson, Derrick Anderson, Lexi Anderson, Kaelie Connolly, and Karlie Rockett, two step grandchildren, Linda Smith and Michelle Mercier, ten great grandchildren, five step great grandchildren, and one sister, Ollie Betterton, of Alabama. He was preceded in death by two great grandchildren, and one brother Sam Anderson.

Cremation arrangements were made though Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln. A memorial gathering will be held in the summer.
