William "Donald" Cunningham, age 87, of St. Clair, died Monday October 6, 2014. He was born March 10, 1927 in Detroit to the late William T. and Marion (Akred) Cunningham.
Mr. Cunningham retired in 1989 from B.T.M. Corporation after 24 years of service. In earlier years Don along with his brother, Fred, owned and operated Superior Machine and Tool Works, a tool and die business which their father began in 1931.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years Ruth; his 5 children, Gregory (Diane) Cunningham, Marion (Charles) Schweihofer, James Cunningham, Ross (Beth) Cunningham and Barbara (Dave) Glines' also his sister Nancy (Ed) Goff of Canton, Michigan; and 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother Frederick in 2011.
Don's family wishes to acknowledge and thank the staff of Medilodge of St. Clair and Season's Hospice for wonderful care given to their husband, father and grandfather.
Memorials may be made to Seasons Hospice, 27355 John R., Madison Hgts, MI 48071. According to Don's wishes private family services were held.
