Funeral services were to be held Monday at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church for Mrs. Martha J. Allison, 81, who died Sunday at 4 a.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Gus Carr, Harley avenue. Officiating were to be the Rev. W.N. Long and the Rev. Z. Miller Freeman with burial in Hickory Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Allison, who had lived here all of her life, had been seriously ill for several weeks. She was the widow of Jasper Allison.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Blanche Auten of Charlotte, Mrs. Gertie Wooten, Mrs. Buena Cody and Mrs. Carr and one son, Forrest Allison, all of Belmont; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Carothers Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
