Elizabeth “Betty” Green, age 99, passed away in Shakopee on February 12, 2016.

Betty is survived by son, Tom; daughters, Michelle, Anita and Max; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wally; and daughter, Voni.

Betty was born in Bigfork, MN on June 13, 1916; one of 11 children. She lived through the recession and raised five children with Wally. She was an active member of St. Mark's Parish for over 60 years and a member of the Council of Catholic Women.

She never had a driver's license and became known around Shakopee as the 'walking Grandma'.

Betty spent many hours in prayer and saying rosaries, hooking rugs and baking amazing apple pies.

Mass of Christian Burial was Wednesday, February 17, 10:30 a.m. at the Parish of Saints Joachim and Anne, in the Church of St. Mark, 350 South Atwood Street, Shakopee, MN. Pallbearers were Mike Quintus, Tim Green, Brady Green, Rory Green, Brent Anderson, and Mark Lilienthal. Interment was held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN, 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Visitation was Wednesday from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. at Church of St. Mark. Rosary Service at 9:15 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice or to the Parish of Saints Joachim and Anne in Shakopee.
