Addison was born to Ambrose and Margaret Tinney. His brothers were John, Griffin, and Jacob. Their homeplace at birth was near McMahan Tx. Caldwell Co. Addison married Elizabeth Ray, May 18, 1857. They had two boys James A. and Kimber. Addison entered the Civil War in Blanco, Tx. in the Woods Regmt, Texas Cavalry as a private. He died Sept. 1867, and his burial place unknown. His wife may have died then too, because the boys were taken in by their Grandmother Margaret Tinney Morris of McMahan, Tx. When she died in 1875, the boys were taken in by their uncle Griffin of McMahan. Kimber (Kim) lived at Wimberley in his old age, and James married Martha King who is buried at Jeffrey Cemetery in McMahan, Tx. James lived at Throckmorton, Tx. as a widower and is buried there.
