Ronald J. Bechinski, 80, LaPorte, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at 12:00 am in Hospice Franciscan Communities.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, February 22, 2016 at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church, 606 S. Woodland Ave., Michigan City, IN with Rev. Christopher Stanish officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm -5:00 pm, Sunday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN and from 9:15 am until mass time Monday at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church.

He was born June 4, 1935 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late John and Irene (Losinski) Bechinski. On October 19, 1957 in Michigan City, IN he married Darlene Dodd who preceded him on November 17, 2012.

Surviving are a daughter, Therese "Terri" (Kevin) Fogus of LaPorte, IN; son, David (Jennifer) Bechinski of Pittsboro, IN; five grandchildren, Scott (Brittany) Fogus of Valparaiso, IN, Zachary Bechinski of Pittsboro, IN, Danielle Fogus of Chicago, IL, Meghan Fogus of LaPorte, IN and Kaelynn Bechinski of Pittsboro, IN; four great-grandchildren, Ellie Marie, Adalyn Reese, Benjamin Scott and Luke Ryan Fogus, all of Valparaiso, IN.

He was also preceded in death by his son, Scott Alan Bechinski; and sister, Audrey Eisele.

Ronald retired as a supervisor at Bethlehem Steel and was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a member of Queen of all Saints Catholic Church, Queen of All Saints Church Choir, St. Joseph Young Men's Society and the Knights of Columbus. Ronald enjoyed fishing and boating and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers fan.
