Russell Leo Mason, age 81 of LaPorte, IN passed away on Monday, February 15, 2016 at his home in LaPorte, IN.
Russell was born on April 8, 1934 to Harvey and Dorothy (Harmon) Mason who preceded him in death. He was married on September 14, 1956 in Michigan City, IN to Leona May (Bock) Mason who survives.
Russell is also survived by his children: Douglas (Donna) Mason, Karen (Doug) Werner, and Gwen (Johnnie) Hudson; eight grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren; sister: Joan Mason and brother: Rex Mason. Russell was also preceded in death by daughter: Lori Mason.
Russell proudly served his country in the service of the US Army. He was retired from Bethlehem Steel after 27 years as a welder. Russell enjoyed fishing, camping and taking care of his home.
Visitation for family and friends will take place on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Geisen-Carlisle Funeral Home located at 613 Washington St. Michigan City, IN.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2016, 10:00 AM at Geisen-Carlisle Funeral Home with Pastor Kim Cole of Michigan City Christian Church officiating.
Burial with Military Honors will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Michigan City, IN.
Memorial contributions may be given to Lake Region Christian Assembly.
