Marjorie was born May 8, 1915 in Austin, Minnesota to William Beckel and Elda Townsend Beckel. She was baptized in St. Augustine Catholic Church and attended parochial schools. She had two brothers, Ronald Beckel and Kenneth Beckel.
In 1929, she moved with her parents to Aberdeen, South Dakota, where she graduated from high school in 1933 and married Lamoure Lacy in 1935. They had five children: Gerald Lacy, William Lacy, Dennis Lacy, Judith Lacy, and Susan Lacy.
In 1969, Lamoure passed away and Marjorie moved to Salt Lake City in 1970. She joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1972 and married R. Neal McDonald in 1976, with whom she had many happy times. R. Neal McDonald passed away in 1992 and she has since resided at Friendship Manor.
Marjorie loved traveling to Europe, Hawaii, and Alaska, shopping, cooking, playing bridge and other card games, theater, all her friends, and especially her children, who she remained very close to.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Gerald Lacy and William Lacy. She is survived by fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, son, Dennis Lacy (Gloria), Aurora Colorado; daughter, Judith Maybach (James), Redwing, Minnesota; daughter, Susan Lacy, American Fork; and dear friends, Hal and Carolyn Lucas, Lehi.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive (1450 East), East Millcreek, where a visitation will be held one hour prior to the services.
