Mr. Ben Mitchell, age 70, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away on Friday morning, February 19, 2016 at his residence. He was born January 1, 1946 in Newnan, Georgia, the son of the late Benjamin Franklin Mitchell and Lorine Boyd Mitchell. He was a retired self-employed automobile dealer and was a member of the Word of Life Gospel Ministries. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Boyd Mitchell, Donnie Mitchell, and James Mitchell; and two sisters: Margaret Bass and Jerry Herrick. Survivors include his wife, Janice Thomas Mitchell; daughters and sons-in-law: Amanda Thomas Morris, and her husband, Matt Morris, and Alea Thomas Shadrix, and her husband, Chuck Shadrix; grandchildren: Reid Morris, Mattie Morris, and Luke Shadrix, Jacob Shadrix, and Colt Shadrix; brothers: Kenneth Mitchell, Robert Mitchell, George Mitchell, Ricky Mitchell, Ronnie Mitchell, and Johnny Mitchell; sisters: Molly O’Brien, Pam Martin, Teressa Godfrey, and Debra Johnson; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 22, 2016 from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Keith Jiles and Rev. Gary Pittman, from Townsend, Tennessee officiating. Those serving as pallbearers will be Matt Morris, Reid Morris, Chuck Shadrix, Luke Shadrix, Jacob Shadrix, Colt Shadrix, and Kenneth Mitchell. Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens.
