Oather Allen McDaniel, age 87 of Claymont, DE passed away peacefully on February 16, 2016.
Known by friends and family as a kind and positive person, Bub truly enjoyed life. He was a giving man, who was happiest helping others and was the main caregiver to his mother in her later years. Bub believed that working in the yard was the best exercise. He enjoyed tending to his garden and delivering his harvest of juicy tomatoes to friends and family each season. Bub was an expert mechanic and could always help you get a car or lawnmower running again. He will be missed by all.
Bub served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a retiree from Delmarva Power.
In addition to his parents, Bub was preceded in death by his brothers, Lester G. McDaniel and James E. McDaniel. Bub is survived by his niece, Susan (Edward) Head of Wilmington, DE; nephews, James A. (Julie) McDaniel of Wilmington, DE, Troy E. McDaniel (Darrin Moore) of Wilmington, DE; and best friend, Peter (Doris) Latta of Claymont, DE.
