Russell Thomas Elkin Jr. passed away Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016. Service: 11 a.m. Monday at Martin Thompson & Son Funeral Home, 6009 Wedgwood Drive, Fort Worth. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Russell was born Nov. 21, 1922, in Summerville, Pa., to Russell and Camie Elkin. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. Russell married Dorothy Elkin in 1942; they have been married for over 73 years. Russell enjoyed woodworking and playing golf. He helped establish numerous churches and was a active member of Hulen Baptist Church. Survivors: Wife, Dorothy Elkin; daughters, Carol Hoelsher and husband, Wayne, and June Jeffers and husband, Scott; son, Russell Elkins III and wife, Jinny; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and extended family.
